Recently, the citizens of Sanctuary have had some encounters with a new race known as the Mystfolk. They have apparently been here for many centuries, and claim to have dealings with the very first dwellers of Sanctuary when it was first built.

Our most-recent encounters with them have resulted in some problems with some of our town members in the Mystfolk’s ability to control someone via their own name, if it is truly revealed to them. Some form of magical control was inflicted upon our people for a bit. There was another encounter with some Mystfolk the next night in Sanctuary itself.

Given the Mystfolk’s ability and previous encounters, the following rules need to be in-place for citizens of Sanctuary when dealing with Mystfolk:

  1. Do not volunteer your true name to them. Have a fake or several fake names, or just remain silent.
  2. If encountered, try to get to the Tavern as soon as possible, where others may be able to handle the situation from there.
  3. Do not volunteer anyone else’s name as well.

Apparently all the Mystfolk need is just the true name of the individual involved for their magical control to work.

Given the fact that we are now involved in an open conflict with the Red Legion, we need to be working at our own, independent capacities. We cannot afford to be distracted, subverted, or controlled. Violations of these rules may lead to official action being taken against the perpetrator.
