Within these ancient lands, deep in this lush central valley, the Dragons dwell. 

Formed long ago by meteoric impact, this valley was imbued with strong magic, making it possible to sustain significant numbers plants and animals well beyond one might expect.  This gave the dragons room to grow and thrive.

Then, the humans came and hunted dragons for magic and armor and weapons.  Some kinds were all but destroyed by these pests.  

Yet one day, a kind human and an injured dragon managed to show each other respect.  From that single moment of kindness, life in the valley changed forever.

Now, the nesting grounds are fiercely protected by Dragonlords and Dragons alike.  Dragons of every color and age each maintain territories within this vast and fertile area and Dragonlords benefit from the dragons’ gifts in return. 

No Imperial is known to have seen this valley first hand and lived to tell of it’s splendor.  This is sacred  land, to be protected at all costs. Dragons and Dragonlords alike know from experience, Imperials cannot be trusted with powerful magic.
