A writ was sent into the Seal with a single Imperial soldier. It read as follows:
“Greetings Prisoners. As you may be aware, the Cataclysm resulted in the death of nearly the entire Imperial family. Until a clear line of succession can be determined, the Senate has taken full control of all governmental functions within the Empire. Under the leadership of Co-Consuls Claudia Aurum and Quintus Argentum, stability and order have been restored. No longer will refugees be allowed to enter the Great Seal with impunity. The Seal is for only condemned prisoners, as it should be. Additionally, any attempt to tamper with the Great Seal in any way will be met with swift retribution. Accept your fate, and you may know redemption under the gods.”
Of course, we have no way to verify if any of what is said in the writ is actually true, or just cleaver propaganda, but it does seem that the number of refugees into the Seal has ceased. Has stability returned to the Empire? If the Senate is in complete control, can it even be called an empire anymore? Only time will tell.
