Earn Jade

We at The Leaf are pleased to announce that the Oaken Bank has agreed to offer a payment of 10 Jade for each 100-500 word article accepted for publication in The Leaf.  Articles must meet our high journalistic standards,  be reasonably accurate (with a bit more leeway for opinion pieces), and meet all applicable publication deadlines.  Submissions are due by noon, one week or more prior to an upcoming gathering.   The Leaf staff reserves the right to make factual and grammatical corrections prior to publication as needed and to reject articles that do not meet the high standards of integrity for which The Leaf stands.  Payment will be delivered by an Oaken Bank representative during the gathering.  A journalist need only see the Oaken Bank representative and mention their article, then sign a receipt to receive payment for their work.

This opportunity is in addition to the ongoing funding to the Tavern.  The Tavern support staff program is part of an ongoing effort to help Denizens sustain themselves while contributing to the wellbeing of others. It also serves to take some of the burden off of Grandma in her efforts to provide wholesome, delicious meals for all of her “lovely cupcakes”.  Limited kitchen support positions are available at a rate of 10 Jade per event.  Grandma Griselda has full the full authority to determine how many helpers are needed and to select individuals to fill these positions. She may to offer additional perks and benefits as she sees fit to keep Denizens well fed and ready to defend the town.  Interested parties should contact Grandma directly to inquire about post deadline meals arrangements or kitchen support work.  Payment for this work is provide to Grandma by the Oaken Bank, who then pays the workers she has selected.

The goals of these ‘work to earn programs’ are to encourage contributions to and ongoing engagement with The Leaf, to build the extended community within the Seal, and to provide a way for Denizens supplement their income. To encourage wide participation, the Oaken Bank has set a limit on payments to each Denizen at a maximum of 20 Jade (from all employment opportunities) per gathering.
