Event Dates

Event 38 is a Tavern Night.  A liability waiver and player registration is still required.  Standard Tavern Deadlines do not apply for this event.  This event is Potluck and an expected headcount will be posted here on Wed prior to the event.

Right now, there are 11 registered attendees, but that number is expected to grow.

*Event start times are approximate and will vary based on factors like weather, available NPCs and so on. No vehicles should drive into the play area after 10:00 PM without checking in with plot first.  End times will also vary, based on time required to complete objectives.  Times presented are for reference only.

**This window represents the optimal time to request Character Updates.  Requests can be processed outside of this window, however, updates processed after this window closes may not appear on the character sheet for this event, if it has already been printed when the request is submitted.  Requests within 3 days of the event may not be processed at all until the event is over.  Our staff generally starts printing the Monday before the event and has everything ready to go before Wednesday so we have time to pack and prepare our personal gear.  Character Sheets are not generally printed for Tavern Night events but the data is available online for the most recently processed changes.

*** The Tavern Deadline is when we pull the headcount.  This is to allow our tavern staff to finalize the menu and buy ingredients.  It may be possible to get food in the tavern after this deadline, for weekend events, but it is not guaranteed, so it no longer appears as an option to buy after the deadline.  Deals must be worked directly with the tavern staff after this cut off.  Tavern Services are not available for Tavern Night events.

**** PEFF is the Post Event Feedback Form where participants have the chance to tell us what went well (and maybe not so well) in our efforts to continuously improve.  This is also a chance for players to earn extra CP and to report SP earned from event setup/cleanup.  It’s only available for a few days after each event.

Location

Our full weekend events are usually played at the Disciples Crossing Creative Camp in Athens Texas which is a lovely wooded facility on a small lake, about an hour an a half south east of DFW.  This facility includes cabins (some with heat and air conditioning) with bunk beds, dining facilities, and ample grounds for running, hiding, and fighting.

This is a separate site from the main camp.  The Creative Camp does not come up on map apps because it does not have it’s own address.

The entrance to the Creative Camp is across State Highway 31 East and about 50 feet north east of the entrance to the main Disciples Crossing Camp and Conference Center.

This overview map is to the main camp.  We do not play at the mapped location!
It is shown as a point of reference to get you to the right area.  For specific driving directions after leaving Athens, see the Getting to the Site video below.

Getting to the Site

Please see the images below for more detail on getting to the Creative Camp from the Main Camp!

The red line on this map starts at about the 40 second mark in the video.
This oval and pine tree sign just precede the Main Camp entrance at around 46 seconds into the video.
The rock gate and building mean it is time to turn. You can see these at 48 seconds into the video.
This cross over appears at 56 seconds in the video.
The video ends in the median looking at this gate.

Facility Map

This is a map of the town of Sanctuary and the surrounding vicinity (including impassable wilderness and out of game areas).

The green PC Area is considered “always in game”, unless you are inside the Atrium with the door closed.  PCs may move about freely in this area, but should remain alert for roaming monsters.

If you must smoke at the site, the Fire Pit is the designated smoking area (to avoid grass or forest fires).

Please be courteous of other LARPers if you choose to smoke or Vape on site.  Be sure all fires are extinguished completely and all butts are disposed of properly.

The yellow Lone Pine Trail area is considered to be an NPC zone used for Mods.

The blue NPC area will be used as a place for Mods.

The purple Sports area, including the sports field, basketball court and volleyball pit, is used for outdoor Mods.

If the weather is bad, most outdoor Mods can be run under the basketball pavilion, if true indoor space is not suitable to the planned activities.

The pink Wilderness area is considered In Game, but is largely impassable forest and should be considered full of wildlife, including potentially venomous snakes.  The Lake Clearing and it’s trail will occasionally be used for mods, if it is deemed to be in suitable condition at that time.

The gray Out of Game area is considered out of game and used strictly for entry and parking. (Our goal is not to disturb the RV camper folks.)
